1. CONTEST SCHEDULE
1.1. Term of submission of images to the contest is October 03, 2011. Works must be uploaded to the web page of the contest latest by 03 October 2011. Delayed works shall not be accepted to the contest.
1.2 Participation fees must be received latest by October 05, 2011.

2.2 Grand Prix Baltic Nature 2011 Award
The Grand Prix Baltic Nature 2011 will be chosen among the 4 Baltic Nature 2011 Categories which are mentioned above in point 2.1. The prize of the Grand Prix Baltic Nature 2011 is professional photography kit: Nikon D3s body, Nikkor 24-70mm f / 2.8G ED AF-S lens and SB-900 speedlight.
2.3 Special prizes for the winners of sub-categories. Three best works of each category shall be honorably mentioned.
2.4 World Nature 2011 Categories
- World landscapes
- World animals
- World birds
- Creative views of World nature
2.5 Grand Prix World Nature 2011 Award
The Grand Prix World Nature 2011 will be chosen among the 4 World Nature 2011 Categories which are mentioned above in point 2.4. The prize of the Grand Prix World Nature 2011 is professional photography kit: Nikon D3s body, Nikkor 24-70mm f / 2.8G ED AF-S lens and SB-900 speedlight.
2.6 Special prizes for the winners of sub-categories. Three best works of each category shall be honorably mentioned.
3. SUBMISSION OF CONTEST WORKS
3.1 Participation fee is 25 EUR
3.2. Number of works is limited with 10 pictures per photographer.
3.3. Participation fee includes:
- right to participate in the contest
- participation at the final event of the contest on November 04-05, 2011 (see the program under Schedule on the web page of the contest)
4. REQUIREMENTS TO THE CONTEST WORK
4.1. Image title is obligatory. Title should be in English.
4.2 Size: number of pixels on the longer side at least 2000 px.
4.1. Requirements to the file:
- resolution should be 300ppi.
- fail format *JPEG.
- color space Adobe RGB.
5. JURY AND STANDARDS OF JUDGEMENT
5.1 Jury’s approach to scoring the works is based on the following qualities: creativity, performance, story-telling skill, technical level, use of light, expressiveness, composition.
5.2 To the Grand Final evaluation will be accepted only best 350 entries. If in contest will participate more entries than 350, the jury will make pre-selection before the final evaluation.
6. SCORING SYSTEM
6.1 Contest works are evaluated in 100-point system.
6.2. The score given by all jury members will be summarized and divided by the number of the members (arithmetical mean).
6.3 Contest works with an average score of 85 or more are qualified for final evaluation and yearbook.
6.4 Description of scoring system
100 - Extraordinary – the best use of skills and creativity, new, fresh, unique;
95-99 - Superb – very close to highest standard in respect of imagination, creativity and technique;
90-94 – Excellent – expressing excellent skills in all fields;
85-89 - Good – good use of imagination, skills and technique;
80-84 - Above the average – good professional skills, creativity and technique;
76-79 - Average – there are professional skills and techniques
70-75 - Below the average – some improvement in professional skills and techniques needed.
7. USE OF IMAGES AND COPYRIGHT
7.1 All photographers can participate in the contest, except persons related to organizing the contest.
7.2 Photo must be taken during years 2008 – 2011.
7.3 Organizers are entitled to use images participating in the contest free of charge in publishing the image in media, exhibitions, public events, contest web page gallery and contest collection.
7.4 Awarded images can be used free of charge with the aim of enhancement of photography, e.g. compose exhibitions and slide shows, print banners, calendars, postcards. Other contest images can be used upon agreement with the author.
7.5 Participant shall be responsible for the data submitted about himself or herself and images and confirms that he or she is the author of the submitted works.
7.6 After the decision of the jury, it is possible to see all the submitted works on the contest website.
8. USING IN THE WEB ENVIRONMENT
8.1 Please sign in at www.iamphotographer.eu and fill properly in all required data in the form.
8.2 Please upload all contest works, fill properly in all required data in the form.
8.3 Pay the participation fee 25 EUR.
9. AWARDING
9.1 The winners receive prizes at the Baltic Nature Festival 2011 held on the 5th of November in Riga.
